Spill Containment Berm Construction and Benefits

Spill berms used for steel frac tank containment usually include drive through ability because of the way tanks are designed.

Foam Wall Spill Berms allow the frac tank to be driven directly over the side wall, and Aluminum Angle Spill Berms can allow the frac tank to enter by removing the brackets from one end.

foam wall spill bermEach equipment berm is constructed using a high resistance liner made from any of the following materials:

  • LLDPE
  • PVC
  • Polyurethane
  • XR-5, Elvaloy, or equivalent material

These liners can be used with any type of temporary spill containment berm walls, including aluminum angle, foam, or a combination of both.

Aluminum angle berms are constructed from durable liner material, with rigid aluminum brackets making up the walls. These spill berms feature walls of one to two feet in height, containing materials in the event of a spill. The aluminum brackets can also be removed on the ends to allow vehicles to enter the berm.

Foam wall berms offer reliable spill containment for vehicles, storage equipment, and machinery. With shorter walls of 4 to 8 inches in height, the foam wall berm's low-profile containment is perfect for temporary spill response and wash downs. Because this berm is constructed with foam walls, vehicles can simply drive over the walls to enter.

A combination berm offers aluminum angle bracket walls and foam wall ends for vehicles to enter and exit easily with high containment options. Having a combination of both the aluminum angle and foam wall berms offers more options to the varied conditions of job sites and businesses.

Our spill berm for frac tank features a durable fabric liner and various wall types depending on your needs.
