10 oz. Needle Punched Geotextile

Non Woven Geotextile for Landfill, Drainage & Separation

needle-punched geotextileThe 10 oz. nonwoven fabric is a reliable option for any application that requires superior strength
and filtration capabilities. Often used to support areas during road repair, road construction and stabilization applications, these 10 oz nonwoven geotextiles feature a needle-punched exterior that allows them to effectively filter water and keep areas stable.

Our Needle-Punched geotextile fabric is made up of tangled threads of 100% polypropylene, which give it superior strength to stand up to the stresses of construction and installation. It's resistance to UV and natural degradation and provides a long lasting economical product.

When Should I Use a Non Woven Geotextile?

As a general rule, the nonwoven needle punched geotextile has six basic functions:

  • Filtration
  • Drainage
  • Reinforcement
  • Separation
  • Protection
  • Waterproofing

While the nonwoven geotextile can be used for any of these functions, they are most commonly used in applications that require drainage, filtration or erosion control. When compared to woven models, the nonwoven geotextile features a higher flow through rate that is suitable for areas that with higher water flows or increased filtration requirements.

These functions are ideal when closing a lagoon, reinforcing slopes, constructing landfills, making asphalt overlay and retaining earth structures.

Woven Fabrics: When a higher level of strength and stabilization is required, a woven geotextile may be a better option. Made with high grab tensile strength, these fabrics provide a robust layer for support under railroads, roads, dirt roads and even rip rap.
