Erosion Control Material
8 oz. Nonwoven Geotextile Material
The 8 oz. Nonwoven Erosion Control Material is one of the most popular options for drainage, stabilization, and aggregate separation. Designed as a high strength geotextile filter fabric, these products are frequently usd for the following:
- French Drains
- Construction Sites
- Secondary Containment
Additional fabric options include weights ranging anywhere from 4 oz. to 16 oz. For more information on these versatile geotextiles, visit our Nonwoven Fabric page.

Nonwoven Geotextile Fabric Design and Uses
Standard design for the nonwoven fabric geotextile features a series of needle punched pores that allows water to flow through the fabric. While the pores are large enough to allow water to pass through, they are small enough to prevent silt, dirt, aggregate, or other materials from passing through. This can help to effectively separate two layers of soil that have differing physical properties (grain size distribution, consistency, density). This also prevents fine particles under stress from migrating.
Common Geotextile Uses
- Soil and Aggregate Separation
- Subsoil Separator
- Drainage Areas
- Asphalt Overlay
- Erosion Control Material
- Construction Areas
- Containment Liner Underlayment
- Spill Berm Abrasion Protection
Geotextiles are typically offered in both woven and nonwoven fabric options:
- Nonwoven Geotextiles: Drainage, Filtration, Stabilization
- Woven Geotextiles: Stabilization, Rip Rap, Aggregate Separation, High Strength Areas
