Erosion Control Fabric
12 oz. Nonwoven Geotextile for Erosion Control, Separation and Underlayment
The 12 oz. Nonwoven Geotextile Fabric is a high strength erosion control fabric used in separation, drainage, and underlayment applications. The 12 oz. weight is a high strength nonwoven fabric. Made from robust materials, these fabrics create a strong, yet permeable fabric that can successfully be implemented under soil, aggregate, or pavers. This nonwoven geotextile fabric is perfect for use in areas that require a combination of strength and filtration. Geotextiles are sold by the roll and are available in roll sizes of either 12.5 ft. x 300 ft. or 15 ft. x 300 ft. Looking for a lighter weight fabric? Review additional Nonwoven Geotextiles.

Why Use a 12 oz Nonwoven Geotextile?
When compared to other nonwoven geotextile fabrics, the 12 oz. model works to provide additional strength during its use. Similar to its woven alternative, 12 oz. nonwoven geotextiles feature a grab tensile strength of 300 pounds. This increased strength provides additional options for areas that will be placing a significant amount of weight on top of the fabric. If you are looking for something a little lighter or for an application that is slightly less demanding, view our Nonwoven Fabric page. Products include 3 oz. to 16 oz. fabric options.

Additional Erosion Control Fabric Options
While the geotextile offer a high strength, long-lasting option for erosion control, not every location requires a fabric that will last forever. For areas needing short-term erosion control or stabilization around vegetation, a biodegradable material is the more common option. This can include any of the following:
- Straw Mats
- Coconut Coir Mats
- Wood Fiber Blends
- Straw/Coco Fiber Mats
- Biodegradable Coir Logs
- Coir Wattles
For more information regarding all of our biodegradable options, view our Coir/Natural Fiber Page.
