Question on different type of silt barriers: I am interested in trying to use one of your silt barriers in my water location to control turbidity and other particles. I need to know what types are available. Can you help?

Thanks for contacting Granite Environmental! I'm happy to help. We have a variety of turbidity barrier models /styles that I can tell you about. There are three (3) main types with two (2) available styles for each type.

Silt Barrier Options
- Type 1 Turbidity Barrier: The Type 1 Silt Barrier is designed specifically for silt and turbidity control in calm waters such as swales, canals, small ponds and lakes and harbors. Available Styles: Economy and DOT
- Type 2 Turbidity Barrier: This rugged yet economical turbidity curtain designs make them a contractors project favorite for moving water <1.5 knots and 36” Wave swells. Available Styles: Medium Duty and Heavy Duty
- Type 3 Turbidity Barrier: Type III Silt Barrier is a tough silt curtain which is designed specifically for silt control in rivers, inter-coastal waterways, bays and harbors. These rough water floating silt curtain is ideal for demanding applications whether dredging contaminated sediments or demolishing bridges. Available Styles: Medium Duty and Heavy Duty
All of our standard or in-stock silt curtains come in either 50' or 100' long sections x 5' wide. Custom sizes are available, but will require a lead time as they are not in stock.
