What are your Type 3 Turbidity Curtain Sizes?
(North Carolina)
I was wondering what type 3 turbidity curtain sizes you have available. I require around 250 ft in length and 16 ft in depth. I will be placing it in the Cape Fear River. I also need to know the materials that will be used.Thank you for contacting us! Our standard type 3 silt barrier sizes are in sections that are either fifty (50) or 100 feet long. The depths of these silt curtains range anywhere from three (3) feet to 100 feet. In order to reach your required length of 250 feet, you could purchase two of the 100 foot sections and one 50 foot section and then connect them together.
Attaching sections of turbidity curtain together requires a three step process. The first step is to attach the bottom chain/ring of one section of the barrier to the chain/ring of the second section of the barrier. You will do this by using either a shackle or a snap hook.
Once this has been completed, slide the connectors for your barrier together and insert the toggle pin. After the sections have been secured together, use ropes or zip ties to tie the grommet eye of one barrier to the grommet eye of its mating section. You will do this for the entire depth of the barrier.
For further information, you can also check out our Installation Guide.
Standard materials used for these barriers are a heavy-duty twenty-two (22) ox Vinyl Coated PVC. However, other materials are available upon request depending on your specific site location and requirements.
