Granite Type II Silt Curtain is ideal for medium workloads and can be stored easily on the deck of a vessel for repeat use. The main function of this silt screen is to control the dispersion of suspended silt and sediment and improve settling times (Stokes Law). What this achieves then, is protection of vital aquatic habitat like sea grass beds, aquaculture facilities and spawning areas.

The Type 2 turbidity curtain can stand up to 2 foot waves, 30 mph winds, and <2.5 fps. Curtains normally come is 100 feet (30 m) or 50’ (15m) length, but adjustable by special order to any length. (additional cost applies for varied length) The draft can be from 3 feet to 100 feet with an 8-12" freeboard.
