Retooling Shop for Absorbent Booms
Question: Looking for shop absorbent booms. I am a project manager and we are in the process of retooling our shop to fill absorbent booms. I need to find out how much do you charge for us to purchase the booms from you and specs on how much material do the booms hold. I am new to this. Could you educate me?
Thanks for your inquiry. I would be happy to tell you more about our Absorbent Booms. They are designed with semi-flexible internal foam flotation and a flexible fabric skirt and are available in different sizes and strengths to contain spills in conditions from quiescent waters to open ocean waves. So depending on the water type, you can choose from Calm Water Oil Boom, Fast Current Oil Boom, or Open Water Oil Boom.
There are many benefits to using our oil boom. It absorbs up to 25 times its weight, has a low ash content, quick wicking speed, are dustless, hydrophobic, have superior retention, and are machine friendly.
They come in bales containing 40 feet of oil boom with a weight of 40 lbs. per bale. Available in 5" or 8" diameter x 10' or 40' in length, absorbent oil boom is made from spun bond polypropylene or melt blown polypropylene. You can also choose between two colors: White or Hazmat Yellow.
When it comes to deploying a spill containment boom, there are three different types, Containment Boom; Deflection Boom; and Exclusion Boom depending on different factors like type of the oil spilled, location, weather, time of day, manpower available and equipment at hand.
