A non woven geotextile acts as a filter and a drain for the soil it covers. Water passes through and the fabric retains fine particles so the soil layers do not mix.
It also provides permanent mechanical and hydraulic filter stability and facilitates drainage and gas venting

When Do I Use a Non Woven Geotextile?
This fabric is ideal for use with soil erosion control, repair, and restoration. The best solution for erosion control is vegetation growth. Geotextiles facilitate this growth.
As they filter and drain, water erosion is minimized, seeds and seedlings are protected, and the plants are able to establish root systems.
