GEOTEXTILE

Geosynthetics and Liners

Granite Environmental offers a wide variety of Geotextile, geomembrane, geosynthetics and pond liners. These are permeable and impermeable engineered fabrics, which, when used in association with soil and rock, have the ability to separate, filter water, reinforce the ground and stop erosion.

Geosynthetic functions vary widely depending on the application and project. To get review some typical uses click on this link.

HDPE geomembrane is used extensively as liner material for landfills or large reservoirs and requires qualified geotextile installers to competently field assemble the engineered membrane panels. Smaller applications using Pond Liners material is ideal for smaller residential and commercial fish or aqualculture facilities.

Geosynthetic Lined canal Granite Environmental, Inc. offers a variety of PVC, standard and reinforced polypropylene, polyethylene, XR5 and XR3 Elvaloy coated membranes, Urethane and HDPE and coated fabric blends to suit almost any project requirement. Our technical staff will work with you and offer sound advice to ensure your project has the right product.

Geosynthetics can be clasified into categories based on materials and method of manufacture. Each is specifically designed to perform to engineered standards. Click here to learn more about the various styles and designs and how they are classified.

We supply these geosynthetics primarily on rolls, but can prefabricate water garden liners(small pond liners)and custom make to order for site specific applications (i.e. soil pile covers, rail car gondola liners for FUSRAP or contaminated use, etc).

Pond Liner Material Whether you need UV protection, cold crack, potable water, aquaculture friendly, agricultural use , soil stabilization , temperature resistant properties, or even information on our orange landfill capping DO NOT DIG fabric for hazardous sites demarcation our team of technical staff will be able to review your project and assist in determining the best approach for your application.

If you are working a on a large project and are in need of a geosynthetic membrane installers follow this link to the International Association of Geomembrane Installers website where a certified professional can be located.

Woven and Non Woven Geotextiles

International Erosion Control Society

Over the past two decades the use of engineered fabrics has expanded into various civil applications. The introduction of numerous composites such as geogrids and poly meshes (snake and wildlife friendly), woven synthetic fibers, non-wovens filter fabric, needle punched , liners and membranes, to name a few has spawned a whole new market and allowed growth to occur where once it was not possible. Coir Geotextile Geosynthetics are now commonly used on roads, airfields, railroads, embankments, retaining structures, reservoirs, canals, dams, bank protection and for coastal engineering.

These fabrics can extend the service life of prepared surfaces, increase their load-carrying capacity, and reduce the incidence of ruts and deformity.

These benefits are accomplished by separating aggregate structural layers from subgrade soil while allowing drainage and the passage of water.

Engineered fabrics can be used on any site requiring an aggregate (rock) layer for surfacing, as it will substantially reduce the amount of aggregate required, thus reducing the cost of the project and improving stability too!

Coir Geotextile Fire Mitigation If your project involves fire mitigation, flood repairs, stream bank soil stabilization or restoration in environmentally sensitive areas, we have biodegradable solutions like Coconut fiber Geo-Fabric or Coir-logs that are used with great success in promoting re-vegetation and preventing erosion. These fabrics will totally biodegrade eliminating the need to remove them if a synthetic type were used in the same application.

A good place to investigate uses and research projects and discuss ideas is at the IGS. I would recommend becoming a member to anyone interested in the geosynthetics industry!
