The Type 1 Silt Barrier is designed specifically for silt and turbidity control in calm waters such as swales, canals, small ponds, lakes and harbors.

The silt curtain is ideal for use along Roadways for Department of Transportation D.O.T. projects and meet and exceed state requirement.

type 1 barrierThe floating silt curtain is, without a doubt, one of the most frequently specified and used silt screen products in the United States as a site (BMP) Best Management practice and for NPDES compliance.

  • Barrier Color: Safety yellow of high visibility
  • Flotation Size: Standard 6" but can vary with skirt depth
  • Load Carrying Components:
    • Base fabric (325x300 lbs tensile ASTM)
    • 3/16” Steel Chain galvanized coated. (3,000 lb. Break Strength)
  • The skirt is ballasted to hang vertical in the water by a minimum 3/16” Chain weighing 0.41 lbs per foot
