An industry standard, 55 gallon drums are ideal for storage and trasport of dry goods. These steel drums offer a firm and reliable structure that is capable of handling oil, chemicals or even food or hazardous containment (see ratings in the chart below).

Choose between closed head (with a sealed lid) or open head (without a sealed lid) drum styles. The closed head 55 gallon steel drum comes with Bung fittings and carries UN Liquid ratings*. The open head 55 gallon steel drum carries both UN Liquid and Solid ratings*. Both drum types come in standard weight or heavy duty, and are coated with an internal corrosion inhibitor.

*Keep in mind US gallons and UK gallons (imperial gallons) are not the same. The US liquid gallon is approximately 231 cubic inches (about 3.785 litres), while the imperial gallon is approximately 277 inches (about 4.54 litres). One imperial gallon is equivalent to about 1.2 US gallons.
